Lionel Da Silva Photography is a San Francisco based photographer specializing in people, editorial ,event, and commercial photography. My approach to people photography is to try to bring out the persons true inner self while still being as tasteful and professional as possible. I believe that the eyes are the gateway to the soul and that the person being photographed should be very comfortable and relaxed.

In my editorial work, the approach is to tell the story as creatively and honestly as possible. To capture that decisive moment in a split second.

With special event photography, and especially wedding photography, my aim is to document this joyous and memorable event in a very unobtrusive and candid manner while still getting all the necessary formal portraiture done in a timely, professional, and fun way. I believe in capturing the day in real time and at the "decisive moment". Timeless and special moments captured for generations to share and enjoy. Having shot many different events and weddings so far in my career, I believe it is an honor and privilege to be the chosen photographer for such a great day. I have covered weddings since 1994 and average approximately 40-50 weddings per year with the busy shooting season going from May until November.

My commercial work has me shooting anything from architecture, annual reports, travel, and portraiture. I use either film or digital depending on each clients needs. I like to say that, If the client is happy, than I'm happy. I strive to provide each client with the best possible photography.
